We had such a beautiful Labor Day weekend here in Chicago! Friday morning I slowly sipped my last Starbucks latte for the month, and much more importantly, photographed Mallory & Matthew’s gorgeous wedding at the Drake Hotel. Saturday I caught up on house things like laundry and dishes, I grocery shopped with my new requirements for the first time (honestly it was harder than I thought), I baked a loaf of Apple Chunk Bread (recipe coming this week), worked on editing weddings, and went to Belly Shack for dinner with Wil. Thanks to AJ for catching this picture of me photographing Mallory!
Sunday Wil and I went to church and heard honestly the best sermon I have ever heard on the beatitudes. Josh really nailed it and I’m going to have to listen to the podcast again this week, it was so good. Then I photographed Lauren & Stefan’s stunning University Club of Chicago wedding.
This weekend I used off camera flash confidently for the first time. Full blog post coming with how totally rad the Canon 600 EX-RT’s are and how brilliantly Lauren figured out how to use them in the way that we want to, and then showed me last week at the Justin & Mary Lighting Intensive.
And yesterday, we rested. It felt so good to actually relax. KT & Josh came over for dinner and KT cooked the most amazing orzo salad with veggies and chicken. Literally no clue how that worked out, but I have awesome friends….so I’m just going to say she could tell that’s what I needed. We shared laughs over John Stewart’s coverage of the RNC, and crashed early. I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I want to hear all about it :-)
