I found a recipe on Saveur a couple weeks ago that called for lemon sorbet, vodka, and proscco. I saved it immediately and have made a little riff here for you all! The version I make below isn’t quite perfect, so I would definitely recommend playing with proportions and mix-ins.
Their recipe calls for 1/3 cup lemon sorbet, 1 oz vodka, 3 oz prosecco. But my grocer didn’t have lemon sorbet and I decided raspberry sounded just as delicious! And, since I don’t really drink vodka (without some serious arm twisting and judgment) I decided to substitute gin in as you can see below. Also, not really wanting to exactly measure 1/3 cup sorbet, I settled for a dollop.
I would recommend mixing in a separate container and whisking everything together before pouring into the glass or coupe. My method was just a scoop of the sorbet with everything poured on top…not excellent for blending honestly. It was still absolutely delicious don’t get me wrong…just notes for next time :-) It’s also quite strong when you add the gin (or vodka) so if you’re just wanting to sip on several of these (which I believe prosecco calls for) maybe skip the gin and just whisk together sorbet and prosecco!! MMMMMMMMMM
Pretty AND delicious! Cheers to the happiest of Friday’s for you all! I’m off to a Cubs game this afternoon and hopefully a restful evening before weddings Saturday AND Sunday! I can’t wait to show you all the pictures next week :-) XXOO
