Craft Spirit Week Chicago: American Gin Smackdown
Last night Wil and I went up to the Whistler for our first Craft Spirit Week event. Left Coast v Third Coast: the American Gin Smackdown! Gin AND a competition….you know I’m there! Really though, it was so cool to meet local distillers (the guy from Letherbee is as cool as you think he is) and actually be able to do a proper tasting of things consecutively to get a better idea of how everything lines up flavor wise.
The real show stopper of the night though was Tomr’s Tonic. I didn’t realize that just okay tonic might be the thing keeping some of my friends in the dark about gin…until I tried this. It’s just so delicious!
