On a beautiful sunny day last week at the Waldorf Astoria, Julia dressed in Dries van Noten and Christian Louboutin, Nick helped fastened her mother’s borrowed and blue necklace, and they went to be wed at City Hall. That evening, they celebrated over dinner at Alinea. 
Your Stylist AJ fashioned her hair, and she carried beautiful bouquet from Pistil & Vine. All in all, it was a perfect day.

Jessica & Matt were my last wedding of 2012! It was on my “weddings I’d love to shoot” list to photograph a wedding with just the couple and the officiant….and they were that! They came in from Ohio and were officially married by a sweet celebrant with me as their only other witness at the John Hancock Observatory. It was freezing, but they were strong and wanted pictures outside, and I’m so glad :-) Our city is beautiful!
Don’t you just love her dress & coat? And so sweet that they went for hot chocolate after! Love love it.
PS If you’re thinking of eloping in Chicago, the John Hancock Observatory has a really simple package for it! Chicago is filled with lots of beautiful places to get married :-)

I think I’ve said this for every anniversary post, but WOW! How has it already been a year?
To Sarah & Jeffrey, I hope this first year has been wonderful and I am so excited for all of your continued adventures.

It was my absolute pleasure to spend a couple hours celebrating Shannon & Andy’s 12/12/12 courthouse wedding. They had found a park for us to take pictures after, and oh my wow did we have the perfect light!!! I just love the intimacy of elopements.

When Heather inquired with me, it read “she’ll be in a short gold cocktail dress, and he’ll be in something that goes with his cowboy boots.” And folks, I was smitten right there from the start! Even before I knew her dress was from BHLDN (the most gorgeous place in the world) and even before I met her. But then we met, and rallied around finding sane people online (thank you APW & the Hairpin). And this last Thursday I had the absolute honor to photograph Heather & Tim’s marriage. Seriously, it was the sweetest celebration. We met at their apartment and walked to the beach. Their two brother’s officiated. We took a couple pictures, walked back to their apartment to pop champagne! And then snuck out for a few more pictures before dusk. Perfection. Okay I’ll stop talking now and just let you enjoy!

Kris and Sabrina’s wedding encompasses SO many things that I love about my job. Picture this, an intimate restaurant wedding with 20 guests. Getting ready at a super modern, gorgeous hotel downtown, the James. Had their first look in the lobby with friends looking on. Bridal party pictures in the bar that looks like West Elm? Yes please.
Pre-ceremony cocktail hour with the bride and groom? You know I love it! Zed 451′s rooftop is simply too gorgeous.
Kris’ dad is a doctor. He hand wrote their card. Have you ever seen such beautiful script?!
The moms hugging each other kills me! So much joy.
Annnd the food. I don’t even know where to start! Literally every single dish was delicious. I love working with foodie couples SO much!

I have been holding my breath in anticipation and excitement to share this wedding! Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Philippe and Oriana were wed in the John Hancock Signature Room on the 95th floor looking out over Chicago. Oriana wanted it to be real vintage, and as such they both wore untouched vintage. I literally gasped when she opened her hotel room door in this gown.
