Our Time

Our Time

//If you’re looking for the most recent wedding and engagement pictures click through :-) today’s post is personal\\

Walking home from dinner last night Wil asks me what I want to do to celebrate our anniversary. Say what?! Ohhh yeahhh our one year of marriage anniversary is less than one month away!! I pause to think for just a second before telling him “let’s not do presents.” (Yes, I may be going insane.) “Let’s do something off of our list.” As soon as we got home we grabbed the laptop and curled up on the couch. Well, really more like he sits down with the laptop and I curl up onto him and pretend like it’s normal. He pulls up our list. Fondly titled ‘Excuses to spend time with Emilia Whited,’ this list is something we started when we had first started dating. Places (restaurants, cities, countries and beyond) that we wanted to visit together, things we want to do together. You might say we knew right away that this was going to be a for the rest of our lives relationship. And there they all are with little lines through the middle. Be in a wine club, go to a Texas A&M football game, Alinea, Make Em play frisbee, DTR, meet the parents, take Wil to the Violet Hour, the list goes on.

We add a new line and date: Be married for one year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (3/5/12)

I look through the list extensively and tell him that it doesn’t matter to me how we celebrate our anniversary. What’s so much more important is what we’re doing right now. Spending quality time together. Reflecting on our time together so far and excitedly preparing for the many years to come. We’re actually doing this.

(Picture from our first Lollapalooza together, and our wedding day :-) because I believe almost every post should have at least one pretty picture)
