Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home

I have always loved to travel. Since I was a small child I remember long road trips to with family and transatlantic flights. I love how traveling breaks up the day-to-day, you see and smell and feel new things. Even if the destination isn’t super exciting in and of itself, just the idea of experiencing new things and going new places has always been exciting.

But let me tell you this. There is nothing like home. We flew back into Chicago on Saturday and I am reveling in the little details of familiarity. The way I almost trip over a pile of shoes walking in the door, the way Wil and I hug in the kitchen (we’re weird, I know), the way my Japanese knife cuts onions, the fluffy hug of my bathrobe in the morning, the smooth touch of our sheets at night. The little things are sweet and calming, like listening to the pitter-patter of rain outside while holding a big mug of coffee inside :-) It is so good to be home.
