I think I’ve said this for every anniversary post, but WOW! How has it already been a year?
To Sarah & Jeffrey, I hope this first year has been wonderful and I am so excited for all of your continued adventures.
For anyone who hasn’t seen Sarah & Jeffrey’s beautiful restaurant wedding at MK, you simply must go back and see it. Or check out their Wordless Wedding feature on A Practical Wedding. I can easily say that their wedding was a turning point for my work and discovering my style.I wish you two the happiest of anniversaries, and so much joy in the years to come!
Kris and Sabrina’s wedding encompasses SO many things that I love about my job. Picture this, an intimate restaurant wedding with 20 guests. Getting ready at a super modern, gorgeous hotel downtown, the James. Had their first look in the lobby with friends looking on. Bridal party pictures in the bar that looks like West Elm? Yes please.
Pre-ceremony cocktail hour with the bride and groom? You know I love it! Zed 451′s rooftop is simply too gorgeous.
Kris’ dad is a doctor. He hand wrote their card. Have you ever seen such beautiful script?!
The moms hugging each other kills me! So much joy.
Annnd the food. I don’t even know where to start! Literally every single dish was delicious. I love working with foodie couples SO much!
And to all a good night. XXOO
It was such a joy to be included in Kris & Sabrina’s intimate marriage celebration on Saturday! You may remember them from their fun foodie engagement pictures down at Union Station and Piece Pizza & Brewery. I don’t want to spoil all the fun, we’ll do a full wedding post soon…but I couldn’t start the week without sharing a couple of my favorites from this awesome restaurant wedding (have I talked enough about how much I love these sweet celebrations?!).
Ow ow! Sabrina is a super model and doesn’t eve know it. Happy honeymooning you two :-D
There are so many things that I love about this wedding, and about Shauna and Mike. I could tell from our very first meeting how very much in love they are. And not just giddy joyful love, but committed, lifetime love. It’s so beautiful to see. I had so much fun with them during their engagement pictures, I just knew the wedding was just going to be awesome.
That love is the most important part, but there are SO many little details about their wedding that I just can’t help but share a few that I am so excited about. When I found out Shauna and Mike were getting married in a beer garden, I did a little happy dance. Then Shauna told me she was going to wear her mother’s wedding dress altered for the ceremony and a Badgley Mischka party dress for the reception!!! Then she one beautiful huge flower around her wrist instead of carrying a huge bouquet. And Mike walks in for the first look with a bow-tie on! Not only do Shauna & Mike clearly have such fun taste, but they’re so laid back (which is wonderful all the time, but especially on your wedding day!). It was raining when I arrived at the Westin so Shauna coolly decided to do the first look in their suite. I think it worked out beautifully, and then thank heavens the skies closed long enough for us to get some beautiful portraits outside. It rained again when we arrived for the ceremony, so again, totally calmly she pushed back the ceremony for 30 minutes. Hello cocktail hour before and after the ceremony! These two couldn’t be any more fun. And then it stopped raining again! They were able to be married outside, and enjoy a beautiful evening. Without further ado…the brand new Mr & Mrs Megleo!
and one of us to close out the night! Thank you so much for including me in your wedding, I am so incredibly honored!
I’m just so happy for you all to be married!! All my love. XXOO
Fabulous Creative Team: Thank you so much to Jessica Norman for assisting me all day. Big hugs to Cindy & Julia, the Crafty Broads for being amazing Day of Coordinators. They seriously helped with SO MUCH! Cheers to Toast & Jam for keeping the party going all night :-) (they are seriously some of my favorite wedding DJs) Yummy cupcakes from Bittersweet. Pretty flowers from Ashland & & Addison. Photo booth from Photo Booth Express.
Shauna wore her mother’s wedding dress altered by Silver Moon with Badgley Mischka shoes from ShopBop. And then a Badgley Mishcka reception dress from Saks Fifth Avenue and See by Chloe shoes. Mike wore a Huge Boss suit.
I have been holding my breath in anticipation and excitement to share this wedding! Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Philippe and Oriana were wed in the John Hancock Signature Room on the 95th floor looking out over Chicago. Oriana wanted it to be real vintage, and as such they both wore untouched vintage. I literally gasped when she opened her hotel room door in this gown. Please listen to Louis Armstrong’s La Vie En Rose (their first dance song) while you scroll through.
Welcome home from your honeymoon Philippe & Oriana!!
Phil Trocchio of All Events Entertainment kept everyone dancing the rest of the night!
All of my love to you two. Thank you so much for letting me capture your special day.
Last weekend I was so honored to be included in Nancy and Steve’s intimate marriage celebration at the NoMI Kitchen. Their space was perfectly styled by Beth LaMotte of Winnetka. And a charming retired judge, Patrick Morse, conducted the ceremony. Part of why I love restaurant weddings so much is because they feel like an extended family dinner party! I hope you can feel included in that too, just for today while you look at the pictures :-)
The cocktail hour view!
A million happy wishes to the new family!! XXOO
