It’s funny how the idea of dressing up evolves. When I was little I used to play dress up. We had a large wooden chest full of colorful scarves, old drapes, dresses that didn’t fit us, and accessories galore! Opening that chest and creating different outfit combinations was absolutely one of my favorite pastimes. I can remember one specific weekend I had planned with a girlfriend; we were having a sleepover at her house and playing Titanic (let’s focus on the fun, everyone is fancy and dresses up for dinner part of this). We planned for weeks. What I would bring, and what she would have ready. Just to play time period dress up!
Of course the way we play dress up has completely changed (though bet your booty I still have a massive collection of colorful scarves) now I get excited about planning what to wear for parties and trips. And boy oh boy is WPPI feeding into this. I am almost too excited about this. I was really way too bummed about the Prohibition Rebellion party falling during Jose Villa’s talk and Justin & Mary’s mixer. But fear not! We still have the Airplanes & Blazers party Monday night too
The cues we have been given are low brow meets high brow on the old Vegas strip and 60′s suits, tuxes, cocktail dresses, bowties, heels, fedoras, etc. I cannot wait to see what people come up with! My outfit is a secret right now (mostly because it’s at the tailor and I can’t take pictures of it) but I created this polyvore set as a quick guide for anyone looking for ideas!
I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!!
Thank you for patiently waiting
